Since 1984 Valley Bus Company has been safely transporting school children, college and university students, athletic teams, extracurricular groups and organizations, church groups, travel excursions and almost any group that needs to commute. Some trips are across town, others are across the country. Our safety record and level of professionalism is unmatched.
When we first started serving the public we drove just seven rural bus routes for the Fargo Public School System. Over the years we’ve worked hard to earn the respect of school transportation directors and today our fleet drives more than 700,000 miles per year providing nearly 1,000,000 rides. In addition we provide extracurricular the transportation for activities, teams and organizations for numerous area schools.
Safety is our primary focus at Valley Bus. Transporting children is a serious responsibility. Our nearly 200 employees - drivers, special needs drivers and aides, training staff, maintenance technicians, schedulers and management - all keep safety as their number one goal.
Valley Bus is owned and managed by the same Fargo family that started the business in 1984. We recognize our responsibility and work hands-on in the business. Communication is important and our customers know they can talk with anyone on our management and ownership team.
There is no substitute for excellent training. Traditional school contracts require approximately 15 hours of training per year. At Valley Bus our drivers receive more than 50 hours each year. Our extensive training program, managed by on-staff certified safety trainers, goes above and beyond requirements and expectations. We believe it's important to have the best drivers on the road.

We're proud of our employees. Many of our staff and drivers have been part of the Valley Bus family for several years. Some of our drivers are now transporting children of parents who rode their bus routes two decades ago.
Finding and keeping top quality employees is as important as keeping buses in top-notch condition. Our hiring process includes extensive background checks, initial and ongoing drug and alcohol testing, in-depth insurance reviews, and one-on-one driving education.
Using the latest Zonar GPS tracking technology, coupled with on-board video recording and radio communications, we are able to track and monitor our school buses and motor coaches to assure safety. Weather issues, route schedules, missing students – Valley Bus provides this monitoring as a customer service. This is not required by contract, but we believe it’s a responsible business practice.
We are proud to have consistently earned the highest ratings from the North Dakota Highway Patrol/Department of Transportation in annual reviews of our equipment for safety checks and cleanliness. We credit our great staff for this recognition.
